Under the leadership of the Operations Supervisor and the direction of the Warehouse Team Leads, this position supports all areas of the distribution center including receiving, returns, damages, picking, packing, transfers, shipping and overall movement of inventory. Based on business needs, some of our Associates will have the opportunity to work across and develop in other warehouse departments as well as potential to gain certification to operate various DC equipment. In addition to supporting DC operations, they also engage in training, team building, meetings and personal development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurately selecting product according to the customer’s order specifications.
- Load and unload product onto or from delivery vehicles, pallets, etc.
- Pulling and preparing product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking/packing duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Operation of Radio Frequency (RF) terminals for various functions including picking, quality, inventory, shipping, etc.
- Determine the appropriate destination of product by scanning cases, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers and sort cases and pallets accordingly.
- Participate in physical inventories and cycle counts.
Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Radio Frequency (RF) experience preferred.
- Able to work in various temperature controlled environments including temperatures below freezing.
- Strong team player.
- Capable of adapting to third party technologies (RF scanners, voice picking and new systems)
- Ability to obtain a powered industrial truck (PIT) operator certification.
- Flexible and adaptable with schedule which could include nights, working required holidays, some weekends with occasional after hour requirements.
